Active Release Techniques

ART

Underwood Chiropractic is your Southern Illinois source for Active Release Technique (ART). This patented technique shook up the sports health care with its rapid and permanent resolution of so many different conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, and IT band syndrome. Lately it has gained attention for results with more common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, headaches, neck/upper back tightness, and chronic pain syndromes.

Properly functioning muscles glide smoothly over other muscles, ligaments, and nerves. Within individual muscles, muscle fibers normally glide smoothly over other muscles fibers. When an injury or overuse situation occurs, adhesions or scar tissue can form in between the muscles and other structures and limit movement or produce a number of symptoms such as: pain, tightness, weakness, numbness, tingling, and a cycle of re-injury.

Active Release Techniques achieves permanent results by combining very specific patient-assisted stretching of muscles with pressure into the problematic areas. This combination is able to overcome muscle adhesions and break up scar tissue resulting in restored motion and function. Long term resolution of many different conditions can be achieved in relatively small number of treatments.

Do you feel like you have tried every treatment for your pain?

There is a way to become pain free.

Whether your are an avid runner, like to take a walk everyday, or just dream of getting out of bed without pain. Active Release Techniques frequently offers a permanent solution for your condition. Soft-tissue injuries are one of the most common culprits for pain and have traditionally been treated with drugs, heat, cold, rest and massage. These therapies usually provide minimal relief and only a temporary solution. Active Release Technique has changed the lives of so many people who thought they had tried everything for their problem(s).

A free consultation is always available at Underwood Chiropractic where Dr. Underwood will personally take the time to show you how Active Release works and how it can affect your condition(s).
